I’ve had irritation and itching on-and-off for years, sometimes with a little blood. In the last few months, it’s gotten worse and has been a daily problem. My doctor examined me and diagnosed me with proctitus, although they are the same symptoms as hemorrhoids. He prescribed sitz baths and prescription suppositories. That was a month ago and the problem persists. I’ve been taking 1 sitz bath a day. Should I take more than 1? I did call my doctor and now he’s suggesting surgery, which I would like to avoid! Any suggestions?

Tucks Medicated pads and eat more fiber to have a better flow so there is no pushing. Take a deep breath in the nose and let it out the mouth when trying to go #2. Repeat 3 or 4 times to relieve pressure. This will help from pushing the little buggers out and keep from bleeding. Surgery as a last result. We all have them. Some people’s never get pushed out. Good luck, they can be painful.

Unless you do surgery, hemorrhoids may get better, but don’t usually go away. Food high in fiber are a must. Junk food is out of the question. To go over your sitz bath procedure, the best thing to do is sit in about 3 inches of warm water for about 15 minutes. You should do this right after a bowel movement if possible, (kind of hard if you have a job, etc.) and do this as many times a day as possible. Acetaminophen should relieve pain and discomfort.
Now, there are 4 different types of conventional medicine.
1. Injection – An internal hemorrhoid can be injected which closes off the hemorrhoid. Success rate is 90% although results are not always permanent.
2. Banding – Hemorrhoids can be removed by cutting off the circulation and will normally fall off within a week. Success rate is 75% and painless.
3. Coagulation/Cauterization – Infrared light seals the ends of the hemorrhoid causing it to close off and shrink.
4. Hemorrhoidectomy – You will be in the hospital, put under, and it will be surgically removed. Success rate is 95%.
Best of luck!

many hemorrhoid "patients" avoid surgery, which is understandable. There are some cures for hemorrhoids, which might just be for you. You will feel better after trying this
